I was so excited to show them all, but god knows how to get the pictures off my phone.. I miss my blackberry.

In fact, I may be guilty of telling other people they should update regularly.. God. That’s the worst.

All I can say, however, is.. Well, I am a working mum.

Moving right along.. Coloured Jeans.

COLOURED JEANS – note the ‘u’ in colour..

I like them. Some of them.. They are very hip right now. Which doesn’t mean you should go buy them. The fact they are so hip may actually prevent a large number of you not to buy them. If you were, however, going to buy some, these are the colours and styles I like.

Bright Red – J Brand, my favourite.

Bright Yellow, Rag and Bone, second favourite.

Pink, Isabelle Marant, I love this pink.. I am not crazy about the light pastel pinks.. It looks too much like your white jeans got mixed with your red t shirt. If you are going to do colour, do it.

For example.. these ‘pale eggshell pink’ J Brand.. Are they pink or white? Why be so confusing..

Also, I’m not too crazy about all the greens, too reminiscent of elementary school maybe.. I do however LOVE these Helmut Lang green jeans.

They aren’t camouflage, just so you know. They are green with a wisps-of-smoke-like print on them.

I feel like a white blazer in the Spring does what a black blazer in the Fall.

Maison Martin Margiela, except I would wear this open all the way, it looks better that way.

On the topic of Margiela, how about these black spring pants?

Balmain, this one is fabulous

So obviously, you can wear the white blazer with black pants, skinny or wide leg (like my favourite Margiela pants). I usually just wear white underneath, because I am like that. Classic, kind of boring, and conservative.

But you can also wear it with denim, easily, particularly these R13 biker jeans.  I love these jeans, I have too many pairs of jeans, but I really feel like these are different from all the others, and would really compliment my existing wardrobe, no?

I know, the model is quite skinny.. Doesn’t matter, the point is, a white blazer dresses anything up. It makes you look Spring-y. I highly suggest it.

Why do we do that?

I am not going to lie, this outfit is not sooo comfortable. It’s just hot.

Helmut Lang skinny stretch leather pants.

Reed Krakoff sweater.

Kain tank, maybe even a little untucked.

All of the above is, actually, comfortable.

It’s these boots that aren’t, Christian Louboutin suede ankle booties.

And the bag, I love this bag, Chloe Marcie.

The boots and bag don’t have to match.

And you don’t always have to be comfortable.

January can be slightly uninspiring so it’s best to keep it simple.

Course, I prefer every outfit be easy..

Can we discuss sweaters? How often are you wearing sweaters these days?.. A lot, yes?

I love winter sweaters. I love being warm, and soft. A good sweater is your whole outfit.

Great sweater, denim and boots. That’s it. I think I have worn this outfit everyday over the break (which has been excellent, and yours?)

I bought a few, I can’t help it. I love Top Shop at The Bay. I bought this one.

Just kidding, it’s unlikely that I would ever wear orange like that.. I should though.. I like it.

Also? Essential black cardigan, I bought this at The Room.

And Donna Karan,

I realize that most of the sweaters you are seeing are likely chunky oversize knits with large and sometimes garish patterns, like this..

And I like these too, I own a few. I just don’t wear them very often.

The other thing to note is that everything is on sale right now. Everything. It’s a good time to pick up some sweaters.

I know you rarely, if ever, feel hot anymore.

Actually, that’s not true, I have never been so hot as I have been since Lucy was born. It’s always 100 F no matter where I am.

To be a mama and to feel stylish though, that’s another thing.

Thankfully, I have a solution.

T-shirt, Skinnies and a Blazer. See? Miranda Kerr was wearing it just the other day.

It’s doubtful that I would be wearing heels though.. I have taken to wearing Fit Flops, which is another matter all together.  One worthy of it’s own blog.

For years I have said wear your real pieces. Don’t buy fake.

I stand by the don’t buy fake advice, but I am changing my mind on how to wear fashion jewelry.

So, consider this necklace with with a grey t-shirt and skinny black jeans. Tom Binns.

Or this Binns necklace with a simple cocktail dress,

I mean, you barely need to wear anything. Or you could wear your most boring dress with these, it doesn’t matter, it’s all about the necklace.

It’s this whole new world. Forget about the diamond tennis bracelet. Everyone has them, and they are sooo boring. Rather than buying new dresses this season, I am buying new jewelry .
